OC Test Preparation Program (Year 3–4 Entry)

Foundations and Fluency (Oct–Dec)
This term is about establishing a rock-solid base. Students build the essential skills and habits needed to succeed in the OC format.
Weekly Structure:
- 1hr Thinking Skills – Introduction to logic puzzles, patterning, and basic deduction
- 2hr Mathematical Reasoning – Core operations, measurement, perimeter/area, fractions
- 1hr Reading – Fictional texts, identifying key ideas, literal comprehension
📍 By the end of Term 1, your child knows the rules of the game and starts playing with clarity and confidence.
Acceleration and Strategy (Jan–Mar)
Now we crank up the difficulty. Term 2 sharpens their approach, tests their timing, and drills their decision-making.
Weekly Structure:
- 1hr Thinking Skills – Advanced logic: syllogisms, multi-step puzzles, identifying errors
- 2hr Mathematical Reasoning – Puzzles, number patterns, data sets, intro to probability
- 1hr Reading – Non-fiction and poetry, tone analysis, purpose & audience
📍 By the end of Term 2, your child is moving faster, thinking sharper, and answering smarter.
Simulation and Refinement (Apr–Jun)
The pressure starts building—and so does their readiness. Students now enter exam-mode drills weekly. Every mistake is tracked. Every gap is closed.
Weekly Structure:
- 1hr Thinking Skills – High-speed drills, trick logic, mixed-format questions
- 2hr Mathematical Reasoning – Worded problems, compound operations, graph/data interpretation
- 1hr Reading – High-level comprehension, multi-text analysis, question strategy
📍 By the end of Term 3, your child has been tested, reviewed, corrected—and leveled up.
Final Prep & Mock Exams (Jul–Sep)
This is the final lap. We simulate the real OC exam experience every single week—down to the format, pressure, and timing.
Weekly Structure:
- 1hr Thinking Skills – Mixed mock sections under time pressure
- 2hr Mathematical Reasoning – Full OC-style math trials
- 1hr Reading – Targeted mock exams + debrief
