Year 3 English Tutoring Program – AstraX Education

Strong writing. Sharp thinking. Clear communication.

That’s what we teach—because your child deserves to lead the room, not just pass the test.

What We Teach – Term by Term Breakdown

Year 3 is where it begins to count.

NAPLAN is looming. Assessments step up. Writing becomes real. And if your child doesn’t build the skills now? It shows for years to come.

That’s why we designed this course—to build confidence, clarity, and creative muscle, fast.

What We Teach – Term by Term Breakdown

Introduction to Persuasive Writing

We kick off by teaching kids how to form, structure, and defend an opinion.

They learn the kind of writing that actually wins arguments and marks.

  • Forming opinions + supporting them logically
  • SEE paragraph structure
  • Persuasive vocabulary + high-impact language
  • Diagnostic feedback loops to track early wins

Outcome: Students walk away with the ability to write a basic persuasive argument with structure and confidence.

Essential Writing Foundations

Now we refine grammar, sentence structure, and clarity.

This is the technical training that gives kids full control over their writing voice.

  • Nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions
  • Sentence structure & proper punctuation
  • Tense usage and language consistency
  • Three diagnostic reviews for precision

Outcome: Students build clean, clear, grammatically correct writing, every time.

Using Language Effectively

We move from basic structure to impact writing.

This term is all about style, rhythm, clarity—and the art of keeping readers engaged.

  • Vocabulary in context
  • Contractions, dialogue, punctuation
  • Compound + complex sentence mastery
  • Practical writing with real-world relevance

Outcome: Students learn to write like they mean it—with rhythm, variety, and voice

Introduction to Imaginative Writing

The final term is the most creative. We teach students how to bring stories to life—on the page and in the reader’s mind.

  • Character, setting, plot construction
  • Real vs imaginary descriptions
  • Figurative language (metaphors, similes, imagery)
  • Imaginative short stories and feedback

Outcome: Students confidently write compelling, creative narratives with voice and flair.
