Year 11 Advanced Mathematics Tutoring in NSW & Online

Secure your position in Advanced Mathematics and build foundations for Band 6 success

Year 11 Advanced Mathematics determines whether students thrive or merely survive in Year 12. Those who master calculus fundamentals and trigonometric applications now achieve Band 6s later. Those who struggle face two years of declining confidence and marks. Our program ensures students build rock-solid foundations in differentiation, integration, and advanced trigonometry while developing the problem-solving sophistication universities demand. Don’t let Year 11 struggles become permanent limitations.

Weekly Theory Lessons with Premium Booklets

Students receive expertly structured weekly lessons supported by comprehensive booklets. These materials are designed to help students become top performers by mastering core concepts step-by-step. We conduct regular assessments and provide live, interactive feedback to ensure every child progresses confidently.

Term-by-Term Outline

Algebra, Trigonometry & Function Theory (Oct–Dec)

    • This term lays the foundation for advanced mathematics by revisiting and extending core algebraic skills, trigonometric identities, and function transformations.

      • Expanding and solving quadratic, polynomial, and rational equations

      • Applying advanced trigonometric identities and equations

      • Exploring functions, including transformations, inverses, and composite functions

      Outcome:
Students will develop a strong understanding of algebraic manipulation, trigonometric relationships, and foundational function theory—key prerequisites for Extension 1 success.

Calculus, Exponentials & Logarithms (Feb–Apr)

  • In Term 2, students are introduced to calculus, with a focus on differentiation techniques and applications. They also study exponential and logarithmic functions in depth.

    • Mastering differentiation rules: power, product, quotient, and chain rule

    • Exploring exponential and logarithmic functions and their graphs

    • Applying derivatives to real-world problems such as rates of change, motion, and optimisation

    Outcome:
Students will build fluency in differentiation and gain insight into how calculus connects to growth, decay, and physical systems.

Integration, Motion & Composite Graphs (Apr–Jun)

This term develops students’ understanding of integration and introduces applications in kinematics and function analysis.

  • Learning indefinite and definite integration

  • Solving motion problems involving velocity, acceleration, and displacement

  • Interpreting and sketching composite and piecewise graphs

  • Applying calculus techniques in area and displacement problems

Outcome:
Students will be able to apply integration techniques to motion and graphical contexts, developing a well-rounded understanding of applied mathematics.

Probability, Distributions & Exam Readiness (Jul–Sept)

The final term builds on students’ statistical understanding while preparing them for assessments through targeted revision and exam-style tasks.

  • Exploring advanced probability concepts, including conditional probability and Bayes’ Theorem

  • Understanding discrete distributions, including the binomial and geometric models

  • Completing HSC-style exam questions, past papers, and timed assessments

Outcome:
Students will refine their exam technique, solidify core Extension 1 concepts, and be fully prepared for Year 12 Extension 1 & 2 mathematics.
