Getting Started

How do I get my child started?

Getting started with AstraX is simple. Complete our Enrol form or book a free trial lesson, providing your child’s year level, preferred subjects and suitable class times. Our team will review the information and contact you to discuss the most appropriate tutoring arrangement and next steps.

What are your class times?

AstraX classes are available from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM on weekdays and 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekends, Sydney time. One-to-one sessions offer greater scheduling flexibility, while group classes run at scheduled times and are subject to availability and minimum enrolment requirements.

One-to-one sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice, subject to tutor availability. Group class times are generally fixed.

What technology do I need for online classes?

AstraX classes are conducted live online, primarily through Zoom. Students need a laptop, desktop computer or tablet with a working webcam and microphone, together with a stable internet connection. Lessons are interactive and delivered in real time so students can ask questions, participate and receive immediate tutor feedback.

AstraX tutors are carefully selected for their subject knowledge, teaching ability and commitment to student success. New tutors receive direct mentoring and training to develop a strong understanding of the NSW curriculum and the AstraX teaching approach.

We aim to match each student with a tutor who can explain concepts clearly, provide consistent support and respond to the student’s individual learning needs.

What results can I expect?

Every student progresses differently, so we do not promise a specific mark increase or timeframe. Our focus is on strengthening understanding, confidence, study habits and assessment performance through structured lessons and regular feedback.

What makes the AstraX approach different?

Do you teach ahead of the school curriculum?

Where appropriate, AstraX may introduce upcoming concepts before they are taught at school, while ensuring students first have a strong understanding of their current work. The pace depends on the student’s year level, subject, school program and individual progress. Our priority is genuine understanding rather than simply moving ahead.

What if my child attends a selective or private school?

AstraX supports students from selective, private and public schools. Tutors can adjust the pace, depth and focus of lessons according to the student’s school program, assessment requirements and individual learning needs. Where relevant, students can also receive targeted support for advanced coursework and selective school preparation.

How many students per class?

AstraX group classes are capped at five students so each learner has opportunities to ask questions, participate and receive individual feedback. One-to-one tutoring is also available for students who need more personalised support or a more flexible learning pace.

Fees & Payment

What are your fees?

Fees vary depending on the student’s year level, subject and tutoring format. Group and one-to-one options are available, and the applicable fees will be clearly advised before enrolment. Please contact AstraX Education or complete the Enrol form for the current pricing relevant to your child’s program.

Standard hourly rates:

Years 3–6: $25/hour for group classes and $45/hour for one-to-one tutoring
Years 7–10: $30/hour for group classes and $50/hour for one-to-one tutoring
Years 11–12: $35/hour for group classes and $55/hour for one-to-one tutoring

Some programs may have different lesson durations or term-based pricing. The applicable fee will be confirmed before enrolment.

How do I pay?

Payments are currently accepted by bank transfer. AstraX provides an invoice with the relevant payment details and a clear record of the classes or services covered.

Are there any lock-in contracts?

AstraX does not require long-term lock-in contracts. Changes, cancellations or rescheduling remain subject to the applicable class schedule, notice requirements and payment or refund conditions.
